Meet the Team

Aimee Longoria
Founder

Aimee is a vital piece and visionary behind the Women’s Alliance for Leadership and Knowledge. Leading up to the founding of WALK, Aimee has spent the last decade coaching various levels of basketball and pouring into the lives and spirits of students and athletes. Aimee has been a consistent trailblazer and norm-breaker throughout her career. She claimed a High School varsity boys head coaching spot at the age of 24, and by the age of 29 was named a women’s College basketball head coach and Assistant Athletic Director for a University in the Bay Area. Aimee’s background and journey is one that encapsulates all the barriers women can break , but unfortunately demonstrates the existence of said barriers still. Her life-work has been, and will continue to be, an example of why it is crucial to trust and empower women and people regardless of identity.

Michael Longoria
Co-Founder

Alongside his work with WALK, Michael spends his time focused on contributing to the growth and well being of college student-athletes as an Assistant Coach for a women’s basketball team in the Bay Area. Prior to his role with WALK, Michael gained years of experience in leadership positions that have facilitated his personal growth, alongside the growth of those around him. His experience in organizations, such as Intervarsity USA, sparked an already budding passion of building leaders within people groups that tend to get overlooked or discriminated against. Michael views WALK as an ideal space to merge his passions of working with young adults and cultivating new crops of leaders for the future.
